We bought an asymmetrical through Doyle Sails of Annapolis. We bought it=20
during the Annapolis boat show for around $2,000. Doyle did all the sizes=20
based on the Catalina specs. The receipt is on the boat; I'll try to pick=20=
it up=20
next time I'm on the boat. =20
=20
We got the .75 oz nylon material. Doyle let us use 7 colors. We also got=20
the ATN sock and a storage bag. We usually keep it in the aft cabin; it's=20=
not=20
small. My wife and I can use the sail. She handles the helm and I take th=
e=20
sail forward, rig the blocks and sheets and haul it up with the spinnaker=20
halyard. When ready to deploy I pull up the sock.
=20
The sail works well when there's at least 6 knots of wind, but we don't lik=
e=20
to keep it up in winds much over 12 or 15, especially if it's shifty or =20
gusty. Initially we used the sail a lot, but now we only fly it if we're g=
oing=20
to be on a long leg. It's not that hard to put up, but does take some effo=
rt.=20
