With regard to the "formula" - or recommendations that you find in places l=
ike the West Marine catalog, etc, my take is that the C350 is probably on t=
he large side of what is recommended for a 36' boat - we have such high fre=
eboard and wide beam - causing more windage and therefore pressure on your =
anchor system.

Dear C350 owners:
This past fall my wife and I traded our Catalina 310 in on a new Catalina 3=
50. Ours is a 2007 boat that has never been commissioned, one of the last =
Mark 1 models. We are in the process of fitting the boat out and as such se=
lecting various accessories and safety equipment. =20
Which brings me to my question. I am at the point of selecting my primary =
anchor. I need a good all around anchor for a wide variety of bottom condi=
tions. My primary cruising grounds are the Cheaspeake, but want to be set =
up for the US East Coast and Bahamas. I have narrowed it down to a 45lb CRQ=
or a 35lb Delta. I'm aware that both are one size larger than the recom=
mended. I've followed this formula with all of my boats and never had trou=
ble with a dragging anchor. I will be getting an all chain rode for the pr=
imary. In addition I will carry a Danforth secondary anchor on a rope/chai=
n rode.
Any thoughts or opinions regarding these these two choices; or is there som=
e other anchor style or type that someone has had great luck with on their =
350? Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me.
Best regards,=20
