Re sea-water running into the bilge - when replacing the speed transducer p=
ut a wooden bung in the hole that goes through to the rest of the bilge=3B =
have a big sponge handy=2C and a small bucket. sponge up the small amount =
of sea-water that gets in=2C (make sure you take the bung back out - I keep=
it in the inspection hatch low down on the starboard side=2C with the spon=
ge.) Keeps sea water out of the rest of the bilge. I still have a recurr=
ing problem with freshwater in the bilge after rain. Partly solved by plu=
gging up the tube that takes electric cables down through the pressure post=
=2C (I have a furling main) Under heavy rain the water could not get away=
from the drain holes at the bottom of the mast. Water is still getting i=
n from up forward somewhere - some say the captsan=2C may have poor seals a=
round it=2C but it is hard to get at. Any suggestions. The small amount =
of fresh water left after the bilge pump has done its job goes off after a =
while=2C so it must be sponged out on a regular basis which is a bit tireso=
me.

in 2003=2C the dealer recommended that I pull the
&gt=3B transducer and=
replace it with the blank when the boat was not going to
&gt=3B be used=
