Nigel,
I am not sure about cleaning the matress but since it is on the
underside, you might want to mix some clorox bleach and water and dab
the spots. It will kill the mold/mildew, but it may also bleach the
fabric. To me, killing the mildew would be the prime concern. By way
of prevention, I always lift the matresses and prop them up with
something to let air circulate during the winter. Also You can place
a couple of dessicant containers around the boat to collect any
moisture.
