Hello All,
I have not had the problem of severe "cauliflower" prop.
I lightly sand the prop with emery cloth, clean with thinner then I use a
HARD racing antifouling bottom paint.
I just leave about a half inch or less exposed on the tips of the prop for
those crazy electrons to make for grounding of engine (so I am told). Still
get some hitch hikers but not terrible.
I have been using the same can of paint for years - works well. Reminds me
that I need to start looking for more paint for next season!
Regards All,

There was a long discussion on another list about using diaper rash cream
such as Desatin when not using the boat. It is zinc based, they just coat
the prop underwater and barnacles don't adhere.

At the recommendation of my dealer, I bought a grouper zinc anode. It's the
one that is attached to a 20-foot cable with an alligator clip that attaches
to a ground point, and is dropped into the water. The dealer recommended
that I do this until I can get a new shaft anode attached.
I want the zinc to hang in the water as close to the prop as I can get it.
What is the closest ground point to the stern of the boat that I can attach
the clip to? Thanks.

My C350, located on a mooring in Cape Cod, was not used for a bit more than
3 weeks from late June till July 14. When I left my mooring in Cotuit Bay,
I could make no headway in reverse and very little in forward even at 3000
rpm. It turns out my prop was loaded with barnacles preventing the proper
flow of water through the prop. Wow - after 30 minutes of free dives and
many cuts on my hands, I managed to scrape off enough of those lousy
critters to make close to normal headway.
Does anyone know of any way to keep the barnacles off the prop when the boat
is not used for a while? Other than going down and scraping, does anyone
have any tricks to get them off the prop or will normal use of the prop and
boat shake them off?

At the recommendation of my dealer, I bought a grouper zinc anode. =
It's
the one that is attached to a 20-foot cable with an alligator clip that
attaches to a ground point, and is dropped into the water. The =
dealer
recommended that I do this until I can get a new shaft anode =
attached.

I want the zinc to hang in the water as close to the prop as I can get =
it.
What is the closest ground point to the stern of the boat that I =
can
attach the clip to? Thanks.
My C350, located on a mooring in <st1:place w:st=3D"on">Cape =
