The big chrome knob is only a wheel brake - if you completely remove it, yo=
u will see that there is a nut holding the wheel on the shaft. There should=
be a special tool aboard that looks like a cross between a nutcracker and =
a pair of pliers - and it has some pins sticking out of the ends. That too=
l is used to undo or tighten the nut - if it isn't just finger tight - it's=
also used to undo/tighten the chrome cover for the emergency tiller. Anywa=
y, tightening the nut (that you will see once you completely unscrew and re=
move the chrome wheel Brake knob) should fix the wobbly wheel. Remove that =
nut, and you should also be able to remove your wheel. Be sure to not lose=
the "key" - a small rectangular piece of metal that fits in a slot on the =
wheel shaft and into a slot on the hub of the wheel. I looked throught the =
Edson catalog briefly and didn't see any quick pictures to reference to mak=
e my explanation any clearer. Good Luck! Tim BroganApril IV C350 #68Seattl=

Greetings all, I noticed last time I sailed that the wheel had a slight wob=
ble, by inspection the shaft is OK and it is just the wheel itself that is =
slightly too loose on the shaft. Can anyone explain the removal procedure?=
I am assuming that continuing turning the locking chrome knob counter cloc=
kwise will remove it and then the wheel itself is held in position by what?=
My home (and therefore garage) are some distance from my boat and my eveni=
ng daylight hours limited, so a brief explanation of what tools are needed =
to lock the wheel or remove and reseat it would be of great assistance (ass=
uming adjustment is possible, if not can I shim this with a suitable soft m=
etal?) Regards Jim =20
